Privacy Policy

FreeAstroAPI LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we secure it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: email, hashed password (managed by Supabase), optional company/project name.
  • API Usage: timestamp, endpoint, IP, user agent, request/response metadata for abuse prevention and reliability.
  • Request Payloads: may be temporarily logged for debugging; default retention 30 days.
  • Billing: Stripe customer ID, subscription details, invoices. We never store card numbers (handled by Stripe PCI-DSS Level 1).
  • Support: messages you send via forms or email.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide and secure the API service, including rate limiting and abuse prevention.
  • Process payments, invoices, and subscription management through Stripe.
  • Improve reliability and performance through aggregate analytics.
  • Provide support and respond to requests.

3. Retention

  • Access logs: up to 90 days.
  • Request payload logs: 30 days (for debugging), then purged.
  • Backups: rolling, purged within 30 days after deletion.

4. Security

All traffic uses HTTPS. API keys are hashed and encrypted at rest. Staff access follows least-privilege. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store card data. Vulnerabilities can be reported to security [at] freeastroapi.com.

5. Sharing

We share data only with essential processors: Supabase (authentication), Stripe (billing), and analytics/monitoring for performance and error tracking. We do not sell personal data.

6. Your Rights

You can access, export, or delete your data. Email support [at] freeastroapi.com with the subject “Data Request” for GDPR/CCPA/DPA needs. Account deletion is available via the dashboard; backups purge within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and may use analytics cookies for product improvement. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser.

8. Children

Our services are for developers and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

If we make material changes, we will update this page and, if appropriate, notify account holders by email.
